1908 Sweeping vintage photograph of iconic racer Ralph De Palma as he competed in the first American Grand Prix race in Savannah, Georgia. From the scrapbook of famous photographers Spooner and Wells, this was removed from their show-room album in New York! The Savannah Grand Prix is perhaps the most important early race in American history and the photographs from the event are rare and highly coveted by collectors. The image presents well with a negative number printed on the back and some light scrapbook paper as well. This is the only image of De Palma at the Savannah grand Prix we have ever seen and it is a piece of racing history that is being offered here for the first time ever.
