Next to Evel Knievel, Gary Wells was one most recognizable Motorcycle Stunt man of the 1970s and 1980s. Gary was even featured in the book "The Cycle Jumpers" along with Evel Knievel. Gary was really a motorcycle prodigy and made his first professional Motorcycle Jump when he was only 14 Years old. That first jump was the beginning of a career that led him touring all across North America, Mexico and even Australia. Gary achieved many records and competed in many jumping competitions over his career. Gary competed against Australia's Dale Buggins and Johnny "Wonder" Fogwell. Gary Wells made his record jump against Fogwell on April 13, 1980 where he jumped 30 cars with a distance of 176 feet. Later in the year on September 15, 1980 for the ABC TV show "That's Incredible", Gary had a violent crash missing the landing ramp while trying to jump over the fountains of Caesars Palace made famous by Evel Knievel.

And like Evel in 1967, Gary crashed leaving him near death with compound fractures of both legs, a cracked pelvis, three broken vertebrae and a torn aorta. But after five months of being in the hospital, Gary was back to jumping. Over Gary's career he professionally jumped over 300 times, with 110 of his jumps going for world records. Gary was featured many times on TV including ABC, NBC and CBS, and even broke one of Evel's records when he was only 14 years old. Gary even jumped in Mexico under the name of "El Gringo Loco" with his last professional jump on September 12, 2014 over 12 semi-trucks at the Colorado National Speedway.

This Trophy came from the estate of Gary Wells and was awarded to him for racing in the Silver City Scramblers MC TT Race on September 28, 1968. Gary came in 2nd place in the 100cc Novice Class, and was only 11 years old at the time. Within just a couple years from this race, Gary would start wowing crowds with his motorcycle jumping show. This stunning trophy stands 15 Inches Tall, with the Base measuring 7X4 inches wide. Also included with the trophy is an original press photo of Gary riding a backward at the Charlotte Motor Speedway when Wells was only 17 years old.

This is awesome trophy and photo collection from a multi World Record holder, and we think is probably the most underrated Motorcycle Daredevil of all time.
