We are proud to announce that we are manufacturing Carbon Steel 8.5 Posi Clutch Disc and Shim Kits. This newly redesigned kit features thicker tabbed clutch discs for added strength and durability. These kits fit the GM Corporate 8.5 Posi from 1971 - 1987 and the Oldsmobile Type "O" Differentials from 1967 - 1970. The casting numbers for the posi units this kit fits are 410408, 410409, 671, 672, 673, 725, 726 and 588.

This comprehensive kit is a direct replacement and upgrade for GM Part Number 23-1127. This kit includes 8 eared and 6 splined clutch discs.

Unlike the GM Kits, our kits include 10 shims 2 of each in the following thickness. We use the cross hatch surface pattern (which is similar to a Chevy 12 Bolt pattern) because this pattern offers superior lubrication that will enhance the life of the clutch. Another improvement made to this kit is thicker tabbed clutch discs for added durability and reliability. These kits are 100% U. Made from the material to the tooling.

The steel was sent to a lab for analysis and checked for Rockwell hardness. It is the same steel originally used to manufacture the factory discs. If you need a bottle of GM Limited Slip Additive, GM Part Number 88900330 and one new 300 pound Preload S-Spring, please let me know. I can add it to the invoice.

1971 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Please send us your 8.5 GM Posi Unit and we will install the new clutch disc and shim kit.

Drop the box off at any UPS location or simply give the box to the UPS driver. If there are any other broken parts in the unit Side Gears, Spider Gears, Cross Shaft, etc. The labor rate will remain the same. I can also install new carrier bearings for the cost of the bearings or send the bearings with your posi unit and I will install the bearings at no charge. Please contact me for all details.
