The shocks are then sent back through the oven where they bake at the proper temperature to obtain a permanent bond. This powder coat technique is the same method that new car manufacturers use to ensure their parts last virtually forever. It prevents rust from forming on the parts which will weaken the steel and cause premature failure. Beware of "knock-off brand" sellers who use cheap hardware store spray paint to finish their parts.
